PPLA offers full day child care Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:30PM with extended child care available for early drop off by 7:30am and late pick up by 6:00pm. There is an additional monthly tuition fee for extended child care.
The monthly tuition rates are as follows:
1. Toddler (las semillitas),

~2 days per week at $650.00/month
~3 days per week at $750.00/month
~4 days per week at $850.00/month
~5 days per week at $950.00/month
2. Preschooler (las calabazitas)

~1 day per week at $325.00
~2 days per week at $625.00
~3 days per week at $725.00
~4 days per week at $825.00
~5 days per week at $925.00
*Some Organic foods & cow milk included
*Specialized food and milk are not included in the tuition (special diets will be accommodated by parents, i.e. vegetarian, vegan, allergies, etc.)
*Pull-Up, Diapers and Wipes are not included in the tuition cost and must be supplied by parents (label all items with your child’s name). We ask for pull-ups for potty trained children, as well as easy access bottoms, without zippers, buttons, belts, etc.
*Sleeping mat must be supplied by parents for naptime
*PPLA Field Trips are funded by parents (venue entrance fees, & transportation fees are covered by the non-refundable and one time infrastructure fee/deposit of $360.00
*Parents are required to attend four-five parent participation field trips per year with plenty of notice.
*Full day attendance is relative and varies from family to family, which depends on parent work schedules. There will be an agreed drop-off and pick-up time during the enrollment meeting and affirmed within the student enrollment agreement.
**No temporary child care schedule changes and/or permanent child care schedule changes **Additional Fees: There is an infrastructure fee of $360.00 per academic school year due at the time of the enrollment meeting (final meeting). The infrastructure fee will help cover materials and maintenance costs for the school. This fee covers the cost of field trips and transportation fees. Parents are responsible for making a full tuition payment and infrastructure fee by the . In order to reserve a slot for your student, parents will make a non-refundable deposit of $360.00.
Extended Care: M-F: Drop-Off by 7:30am and Pick-Up by 6:00pm, M-F. *Extended fees pertain to each individual child enrolled and no changes to your student schedule will be permitted. 1 day of care-$100.00/month, 2 days of care-$125.00/month, 3 days of care -$150.00/month, 4 days of care-$175.00/month, 5 days of care- $200.00/month
Drop-In Child Care and Extended Child Care (including transitional and school holiday/break extended child care, etc.): 24 hour notice required & based on availability $12.00/hr *drop-in tuition fees are due by the end of the day (s) of care
Sibling Discount: A sibling discount is available for families. The first child pays full price, additional siblings pay 10% below the daily permanent and monthly child care tuition rate. *barter agreements (low income scholarships) of any kind may not be combined, or substituted for school any tuition fees, besides the monthly tuition fee *no schedule changes at any time
Subsidized Families: Subsidized tuition payment applies to P-T and F-T care that is permanent (1 yr. commitment, not seasonal) only. Parents are responsible for all child care associated fees (i.e. infrastructure fee/deposit, late pick-up fees, alternative care fees, drop-in fees, early termination/missing 30 day notice of termination fees, PPLA property damage fees, personal leave and PPLA holiday/vacation schedule, etc.). If subsidized payment is not received by mid month (one month behind), parents are responsible for payment by out of pocket.
Waiting List Policy: There is a non-refundable yearly application fee of $25.00, which will place you on the student enrollment waiting list. We contact families as soon as a slot opens up, according to the scheduling needs of the family. We do our very best to assure that your ideal schedule of care is matched. The families must first tour the facility, and then proceed to an observational play date with your child, before placed on the waiting list.
To be placed on the waiting list, please fill out the child history form (given to parents after the play date, if requested) and mail to PPLA, 914 E. 22nd Street, Oakland, CA 94606. In addition, we ask that you mail your $25.00 yearly and non0refundable waiting list fee (checks can be made out to the school's name or to Cynthia Reimann) to PPLA with a personal bank check. Thank you!
Other: In an effort to unify families and create strong communal bonds within our school, we ask that parents join our parent committee and contribute a couple of hours, per month of volunteer service to our school on a monthly basis.
If you can play an instrument, make jewelry, garden and cook; please let us know, as we would greatly appreciate your participation in our circle and art time. In addition, we are always in need of a handy person to provide maintenance to our facility and to help us brainstorm new ways to fundraiser.

Thank you very much for your time and effort and as always it takes a village to raise a child. Late Tuition Payment & Bounced Check Policy: There is a $50.00 late tuition payment fee, as well as a $35.00 bounced check fee. ****After the fifth day, you will accrue a $25.00 late charge fee for every day that your full tuition payment is late (see student enrollment agreement), and is due along with your permanent monthly, tuition child care fee.
