*PARENT PARTICIPATION SCHOOL POLICY*

PARENT PARTICIPATION SCHOOL POLICY

The Parent Participation field trip program was developed with the purpose of building strong relationships among PPLA families and staff. These events are intended to provide networking opportunities and strengthen communal ties within the PPLA family.

In addition, students will further expand their development meanwhile having lots of fun with mom and dad! PPLA Parents are required to attend all field trips (PPFT) within the school year. Parents will need to RSVP as soon as possible and no later than 72 hours before the trip, along with turning in a permission slip for each student attending the trip.

Parents must notify PPLA of child care needs before (if applicable) and/or after the field trip—students. Your child is welcome to attend school before the field trip and return to daycare/preschool after the field trip. The children will continue their daily daycare/preschool schedule with napping, art project, outdoor play and meal plan. We ask that parents assist with carpooling and supervision of PPLA children before, during and after the field trip (to transport back to PPLA). PPLA does not guarantee the participation of every child in the field trip without a parent chaperon. We need at least five parents to participate

However, PPLA will do the very best to assure that no child is left behind. PPLA will have sufficient PPLA staff and parents for children supervision. Beginning August 1, 2011 field trips fees will be covered by the infrastructure fee, also known as the deposit for the duration of your child's enrollment with PPLA (1.5-5.5 years old). The deposit will cover food and transportation fees to and from the field trip venue.

*In an effort to continue to develop a sense of strong community with cooperation and dedication to the improvement of the program, we ask that parents join PPLA's parent committee. The parent committee meets on a quarterly basis with other families (and the school director, if needed) outside of school and on an as needed basis. Parents will volunteer by selecting school projects and investing at least 30 minutes per week.

Parents may accomplish their work goals by email, text and/or by meeting at a parent’s home, local coffee shop or at PPLA (if available). Some school goals consist of fundraising for school supplies, and equipment, school maintenance, classroom assistance (librarian, filing paper work, etc.), as well as updating the school blog and documenting (photo historian) school field trips, and special school events, among others.
