ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. The next parent participation field trip is scheduled for August 28, 2009. The students will
be attending the Little Farm at Tilden Park from 8:30am-1:30pm.
2. Ms. Magdalena has left our school to focus on school. Thank you for your hard work!
3. Lucas will be leaving us at the end of the month—he will be missed!
4. Rasim and Naila will not be joining PPLA at this time, due to a family emergency.
5. In trying to maintain open communication with parents, we will begin a student
observation logs (located below art pockets). Parents are encouraged to read
and write inside the notebook daily. Parents may write down comments about their child’s
sleeping pattern and diet the night before and the morning of care.
Parents will also have the opportunity to check the white board, located in the school
hallway for parent announcements/reminders. However, parents are responsible in
keeping informed about school functions, changes in student activities, parent reminders,
etc. by reading the monthly parent newsletter posted on our school blog. Thank you.
6. We are currently enrolling P-T and F-T students for the upcoming school year and need
your help. Please assist us in spreading the word about our school success by sharing your
school experience with friends, coworkers and neighbors. PPLA is offering stipends of $100
per family for every referred child who enrolls in our school. Thank you for your time and
support.

REMINDERS

1. Starting on Monday, July 6, we encourage parents to read a short book to their child during drop-off each morning (if not doing so already). Not only will this important activity support a smoother morning transition for your child, but you will also experience additional bonding time, while all in the same, promoting literacy development. Thank you.

2. *PPLA caters to working families who are in need of care until 5:30pm, M-F and therefore our official closing time is 5:30pm, M-F. However, not all parents are in need of full day care and must pick-up their student by their individualized sign-up time (please see enrollment contract for details). As a reminder, we encourage parents to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time, in order to check-in with teachers, child and clear student cubby, and art pocket. Thank you and we hope this clarifies any pending questions and/or concerns that you may have.

3. In order to keep up with school activities, events and field trips please read the parent newsletter monthly and submit your comments on our school blog. Thank you.
4. Parent surveys are now past due. Place surveys inside the tuition pocket. In order to utilize your important constructive criticism and positive feedback about the school and Spanish Immersion program, please sign your survey and submit by Friday, August 7, 2009. Thank you.
